In Loving Memory of Mickey West Bryant
1927 – 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Mickey West Bryant, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 97 on January 27, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her children. Mickey resided at Lagoon Towers Condominiums of Bay Point, in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Born on April 25, 1927, in Stribling, Tennessee, to the late Charles C. West and Stella Rae Sykes West, Mickey lived a life filled with kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and her laughter and stories will echo in our hearts forever.
Mickey was a devoted mother to her three children, Mr. Charles H. Bryant, and wife Sue (Nashville, TN), Mrs. Jo Ann Day, and fiancé Billy Blount (Panama City Beach, FL), and Mrs. Jamie Lambing, and husband Don (Peachtree City, GA.) She was a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds, and she found her greatest joy in the presence of her family, celebrating life's moments, both big and small. She taught us the importance of love, compassion, and the simple joys of life, leaving behind a legacy that will continue for generations.
Mickey enjoyed a 52-year marriage with her husband, Joe Ed Bryant, before he passed away on January 3, 2004. She and Joe worked together to create and operate a family business, Diamond Medical, Inc., manufacturing and distributing medical supplies throughout the southeast. Mickey was active in her local church throughout the years, both at Columbia Drive UMC, in Decatur, GA, and Lithonia United Methodist Church, in Lithonia, Georgia. After her move to Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2011, she transferred membership to Woodlawn UMC.
Mickey relished a game of Canasta or Scrabble with her friends and was a fierce, but friendly, competitor. She enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee, a meal, or a story with everyone who visited or called, and left you feeling loved and heard in every way. Although she is no longer with us in body, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with our Lord and the loved ones who passed before her.
A celebration of Mickey's life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2:00pm at the Nashville National Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible woman she was.
Mickey will be missed greatly but will forever be a part of us. Her love and inspiration will guide us always.
