Midwan Norelus, affectionately known to many as Skye, left this world suddenly on March 6, 2025, while at work in Northampton, MA. He was a beam of light born on August 2, 1976, in Gonaive, Haiti, and throughout his 48 years, he illuminated the lives of those around him with his contagious smile and boundless love.
Skye was a devoted husband to Gigia Cioffi Norelus and a loving father to Julian, Kylie, and Mikayla.
He was the cherished son of Eurzula Sylveus and the late Milioder Norelus, and a brother who will be deeply missed by Nexwan, Wednel, Meefranz, and Miliana Norelus.
Uncle Russel Jean, uncle Benira and his best friend Ace Cetoute, were pivotal figures in his life.
Skye's extended family, including his sisters-in-law Marialaura and Liliana Cioffi in Italy, and his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends from diverse cultures worldwide, will remember him for his boundless spirit and generosity.
Skye's educational journey culminated in his graduation from Bay State School of Technology in 2011, equipping him with the skills that would serve him well in his professional life. As an employee at Whole Foods Market and as a delivery driver for Long Wind Farm in Vermont, he was known for his work ethic and dedication. Skye was a man who took immense pride in providing for his family, and his commitment to his work was unwavering until his last breath while following his daily delivery schedule!
The love Skye held for his wife and children was the cornerstone of his existence. While he carried the weight of longing to see his two daughters grow up and the ache of missing his beloved mother in Haiti, he never allowed these hardships to dim his light. His laughter and kindness were a testament to the strength of his character, touching lives from Haiti to Italy and across the United States.
A great coworker and an even better friend, Skye was a man who kept his deep sadness and real feelings to himself, choosing instead to be the moral support for others. His wife, son, and best friend Ace were his pillars, providing him with unwavering support and companionship through life's challenges.
Skye's life was a lesson in resilience and love. He showed us that even in the face of personal sadness, one can be a source of joy and comfort to others. In the words of Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Skye made everyone feel loved, and his legacy will be the warmth and light he spread to every heart he touched.
Let us celebrate Skye's life by embracing his example: to love fiercely, to laugh heartily, and to live authentically. His story reminds us that our time here is precious, and the impact we have on others is the true measure of our lives. Skye's spirit will continue to inspire, and his memory will be treasured in the mosaic of lives he enriched. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the light he cast upon this world will endure forever.... like he used to say.. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT!....
Family and friends will honor Skye's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel in Peabody on Thursday, March 20th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A memorial mass in Skye's memory will take place on Thursday, March 27th at 10 AM at St. Leonard of Port Maurice Church, please meet directly at church.
