Ediberto "Tito" Centeno, 45, of Revere, unexpectedly passed away at his home on February 14, 2025. Born on January 16, 1980, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Tito was the beloved son of Gladys Gonzalez and the late Gilberto Centeno and the stepson of Ramón "Mon" Vallejo. Tito spent countless hours with his mother, whether on the phone when distance kept them apart or by he side when they were near. He cherished her deeply, always sharing his accomplishments and goals to keep her close in his life. He also spoke often of his father, Gilberto, keeping his memory alive in every way he could. May Tito and Gilberto reunite at the gates, with Gilberto welcoming him home with open arms and a warm, loving embrace.
Tito's legacy will live on through his children: his eldest daughter, Alicia Jaylana Centeno, and her husband Kevin Sanchez of Lynn; his son, Ediberto "Lil Tito" Centeno, Jr. of Lynn; and his youngest daughter, Niyah Centeno of Revere. These three stand proudly in his name, carrying his features, and are honored to call him their father. Tito was also a cherished grandfather to his grandson, Kelvyn Sanchez and another grandson on the way, Alvyn Ediberto Sanchez.
He will be deeply missed by his fiancée, Carolina Vazquez of Revere, and his stepchildren, Dejah Morales and Kelvin Morales. Tito's absence will be deeply felt by his siblings: Ricco Centeno of Lynn; Carlos Centeno and his wife Nilsa of Dallas, Texas; Jessica Centeno and her partner Carlos Rodriguez of Orlando, Florida; Michael Centeno and his wife Gina of Lynn; and Richard Centeno and his wife Jahayra of Saugus.
His loving memory will be carried on by his nieces and nephews, including Jessica Muriel, Kiara Vargas, Isaleen Santiago, Isaabella Santiago, Ismelinda Santiago, Carlos J. Rodriguez, Carlos Centeno, Jr., Shanelee Centeno, Ciara Centeno, Zunnet Perez and Saviel Lopez, Richie Centeno, Jr., Nairis Centeno, Daniel Centeno, Michael Nico Centeno, David Centeno, and Samirah Centeno. To them, Tio Tito says goodbye for now, reminding them all that he loves them dearly.
Tito took immense pride in his work as a Railroad Machine Operator at Keolis, and before that, he spent many years as an Automotive Technician at Firestone, where he showcased his remarkable skills and passion for fixing, building, and customizing cars. He also demonstrated love and devotion to each of us as a father, son, brother, and friend. Tito was truly a jack of all trades, mastering his craft as a mechanic-especially with his prized project car, a 1981 Toyota Starlet that he worked on for over 20 years. He was also a gifted musician, playing the guitar and many other instruments rooted in his Puerto Rican heritage, such as the Bongos and Congas. Tito loved working on his cars and visiting the racetrack with his brothers and son, which were some of his most exhilarating moments. Knowing that his son shared his passion and wanted to follow in his footsteps brought him immense pride.
Adventurous, wild-spirited, and fearless, Tito would take on any challenge if dared. As we hold onto the wonderful memories of the fun we shared with him, we will always keep him in our hearts. On our toughest days, when we feel lost or ready to give up, may Tito's spirit guide us and give us the strength to continue in his name.
Family and friends will celebrate Tito's life at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel, 10 Chestnut Street, Peabody, MA 01970, on February 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Ediberto, please visit our Tree Store.
