Miguel Angel Alicea Gonzalez, 81, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on May 29, 1943, in Corozal, Puerto Rico. Miguel dedicated 25 years of his life to serving in the Army, a commitment that reflected his deep love for his country and his Puerto Rican heritage.
Miguel was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who made friends everywhere he went. He is survived by his daughters, Maria Roman and Teresa Lloyd; son, Miguel Jonathan Alicea; grandchildren, Raymond, David Jr., Christian, Jordan, Drew, Alyssa, Zack, Chloe, Payten, and Mason; great-granddaughter, Mila; and his partner of 19 years, Diana Berrios. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Joan Alicea.
Beyond his military service, Miguel had a passion for fishing, carpentry, auto repairs, and cooking, hobbies that he pursued with as much enthusiasm as his professional endeavors. His hands were rarely still, finding peace and fulfillment in the joy of creation and repair.
A viewing and celebration of Miguel's life will be held at Ammen Funeral Home, 1001 Hickory St., Melbourne, FL 32901. The viewing will begin on Thursday January 16th at 2 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 4 p.m. His family invites all who knew and loved him to join in honoring his rich and impactful life.
