Mike Jester, age 73, of Alpine, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
He was born in Glenwood on March 14, 1952. He was the son of Chester Harlis Jester and Betty Duggan Jester. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Rodger Jester; his wife, Peggy McKinney Jester; and his dog, Sambo.
He was blessed to find love again with Laurie, whose companionship brought renewed joy and peace after a deep loss. Together they shared a rich and adventurous life-riding horses with dear friends, fishing quiet waters and hunting in the beauty of nature. Their bond was filled with laughter, mutual respect, and the comfort of true companionship. Mike never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He was imaginative, loved fishing, hunting, and riding horses. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs Mokie and Chewie. Most of all he loved being Papa Mike to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike was a wonderful husband, dad, papa mike, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie Jester of Alpine; his daughter, Cindy (Mikey) Cook of Daisy; his three grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Tucker, Casandra Cook (Emily,) and Brian Michael Cook (Madie); his great-grandchildren, Lillie Jo, Sadie, Lylah, Maggie, Landry, JJ, and Case; his bonus sons, Bryan (missa) Massey, Andrew Massey, and Tyler Massey all of Alpine; his sister, Stacy (Wayne) Allen of Magnolia; his three brothers-in-law, Tim Robertson, Marc Wernikowski, and Greg Baldwin; his sister-in-law, Diantha Towery; his Aunt, Sue Wisner; his two uncles, Carlos Duggan and Lester Jester; his special "nephews" Matthew Allen and Robert Woodall; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
