Mildred Billman Obituary

Published by D. O. McComb and Sons - Lakeside Park on Feb. 2, 2018.
MILDRED "MIDDY" (CLARK, LINK) BILLMAN, 98, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 2, 2018. Middy was born on July 19, 1919 to Raymond S. and Blanche D. Jones Sisson, in Decker, Indiana. She attended both Indiana and Purdue Universities. Over the years, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Maurice Glock, and later at the U.S. Post Office. Middy was one of the "good ones", truly kind, caring, and thoughtful. She was a friend to many, often reaching out to help others. Her greatest joy was her family. She also loved reading, knitting, quilting, gardening, painting, and traveling. Middy enjoyed listening to classical music and opera, as well. Throughout her life, she was active in the Methodist church. Thanks to her sons, she was blessed to be able to travel to places such as Santa Barbara, CA; Tangiers, Morocco; and Budapest, Hungary. She loved to laugh, especially with her sister, Martha. There were many happy times. Middy will be missed tremendously by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Clark Johnson and Tina Clark, both of Fort Wayne; son, Gregory (Jill) Clark of Valparaiso; grandson Stephen (Stacy) Smith of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Kelly (Travis) Weber of Lexington, KY, and Andrea (Jake) Zehr of Fort Wayne; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Eric Johnson and Jeffrey Clark; sister, Martha Young; brothers, William Sisson, Arthur Sisson, and Allen Sisson; and her parents. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at D.O. McComb & Sons, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
