Mildred Gustafson, 78, of Mayville, ND died on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND.
Mildred Louise Foyt was born on May 26, 1944 in McLeod ND. The daughter of Bennie & Ruby Foyt. Millie lived with her Grandmother Guldbrandsen in McLeod where she attended school in a one-room school house. During those years, Millie would also travel to Lisbon, ND to spent time with family and her favorite Grandpa Clarence. Once Millie moved to Lisbon, she waitressed at her Grandma Hazel's café' where she met Glenn. Glenn and Millie married on July 13, 1963 in Mcleod, ND and started their life together in Fargo, ND and soon blessed with Jinger Ann (1965) and Alex Lee (1968).
Over the years, Millie was a commercial and residential painter and a housekeeper. Millie was once nationally recognized, from Regal 8 Hotels, as the "fastest bed maker". Millie was also a proud supporter of the Guiding Eyes for the Blind which spoke for her love of animals – especially her cats Kitty, Tiger, Nori and grand pets.
Millie enjoyed driving her 1972 Chevrolet Luv pick-up which was pink on the outside and customized with fuzzy dice and pom-pom balls inside; decorating for Christmas, going to thrift shops and firecrackers on the Fourth of July. Millie also kept herself busy with Hook-A-Rugs, watching old westerns on TV, collecting Elvis memorabilia and driving a motorcycle or two.
Millie is survived by her loving husband: Glenn; daughter: Jinger (Suzan), son: Alex (Sheri), and her cat: Nori.
Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Funeral Service: Will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND.
Burial: Will be in the ND Veterans Cemetery in Fargo, ND.
