Mildred Peterson Jones , of Mobile Alabama, passed away on February 23,2025
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ronald Jones, daughter Cynthia ( Ron ) Kozlowski, grandsons William ( Lauren ) Kozlowski , Andrew ( Staci ) Kozlowski, adored rescue pup Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred graduated from Theodore High School in 1953, and from Auburn University in 1962, with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, and an accomplished Pianist and Organist. She graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters in Education in 1976.
Mildred was employed by Fulton County School System of Georgia in Atlanta for 30 years, as an Elementary Teacher and Social Studies Curriculum Director, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Educators, and PEO / Philanthropic Education Organization, Chapter C in Mobile Alabama.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for the Auburn University football team , enthusiastically, every year. She and her husband Ron were active members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mobile.
We were blessed to know her , and to love her sweet, kind faithful personality. May she rest in Eternal Peace.
Funeral services will be held from the graveside of Mobile Memorial Gardens on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time Monday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
The family ask that no flowers be sent. Please make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Mildred Jones.
