Mildred Jean Sutt, affectionately known as Millie, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born on November 1, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana.
For over 20 years, Millie worked as a valued employee at Kroger in Clarksville. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and friends. An avid Bingo player, Millie found great joy in the game, often sharing her enthusiasm with those around her. She had a special place in her heart for children and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her loving children, Vicki Lowery (Johnny Sr.), Shirley Szepesi, and Johnny Petri (Donna). She was a proud grandmother to Johnny Jr. (Carrie), Tony (Emily), David Jr., Rebecca, Bethany, Sara (Sean), Jesse, and Keith, and a doting great-grandmother to Jacob, Julianna, Naomi, Jacob, Jordyn, Johnny III, Jacob, Destiny, Josh, Mikey, Heidi, Logan, and Nolan. Her legacy continues on through her beloved family, including her siblings, Deanie Eaheart, Robert Petri (Lynn), and Margaret Gibson, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember her affectionately.
Millie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sutt; her parents, Irvin and Pearl Hardin Petri; her son, Charles A. Russell; her son-in-law, David Szepesi; and her siblings, Ervin, James, Donald, and Charles Petri, Bertha Elliott, and Shirley and Donna Petri.
As we remember Millie, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by kindness and an unwavering love for family.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
