Mildred Moore Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakes Funeral Home on Dec. 11, 2025.
Mildred Ann (Rose) Moore was born on June 24, 1947 and died peacefully at her daughter's home on December 10th, 2025.
Mildred was the daughter of the late Delbert and Myrtle (Murphy) Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D. "Cotton" Moore, and by all 11 of her brothers and sisters - Virgil Rose, Margaret Spivey, Alpha Turner, Lloyd Rose, Mable Turner, Vester Rose, Ilean Harrison, Annette Turner, Evelyn Marcum, Geraldine Isaacs, and Carl Rose
Mildred was survived by five children - Stacy D. Moore, James (Angela) Moore, Joseph (Amanda) Moore, Matthew (Stephanie) Moore, and Elizabeth (Brandon) Flannery. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Juliana (Dustin) Coffey, James Caleb (Taylor) Moore, Jenna Moore, and Kylie Moore, and her great-grandchildren, Griffin Coffey, Cecelia Coffey, William Clay Coffey, and Kate Brooke Moore. She is survived by 30 nieces and nephews and a host of her siblings' descendants.
Among many special gifts, Mildred had a captivating way with children. With a mischievous wink or sneaky grin, she could immediately win the heart of any child. This was an innate gift, in part, and also developed over decades of caring for her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and of course, her own five children.
Mildred had a kind, gentle, selfless, and patient temperament. She was an incredible storyteller with a joyful sense of humor who loved people and got along well with them. This warm and comforting spirit was the fruit of her deep love for the Lord. The Spirit of God within her extended unconditional love, grace, and Christ-like empathy in every circumstance.
Her heart was always pleased to see surprise guests arrive at her home. She was quick to welcome them affectionately while peeking in the cabinets to see what ingredients she could whip together into something delectable. She keenly observed the people in her life and their experiences. She took time to see, hear, and understand them, and to be present with them when they needed her, which led to many sincere and lasting friendships throughout her life.
Her family will miss her and her many love languages - laughter, affection, food, and affirming words - but they will live in peace knowing that she is joyfully reunited with many loved ones in the presence of God.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 13. 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Gabbard, Bro. Greg Rose and Brandon Flannery conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Murphy Cemetery at Chestnut Flat. Lakes Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
