Mrs. Mildred Ruth Patrick, age 94

Of McEwen, TN passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 17, 1931, in Lowes, KY to Kenneth R. and Gladys Pemberton Snow. As the oldest of ten children, Mildred played a pivotal role in her family, embodying the values of leadership and nurturing from an early age.

On February 19, 1955, Mildred united in marriage with her beloved husband, Eldridge “Possie” Patrick. Together, they laid the foundation for a life filled with love and devotion, making their home in Humphreys County. For 65 years, they lived and loved life with their eight children and community.

Mildred's artistic talents blossomed early in life, leading her to attend the esteemed Watkins Institute of Interior Design. Upon completion of her studies, Mildred utilized her education and passion by making draperies and providing design services for homes and businesses.

Mildred was a Moma to any who needed one. From 1972 until 1979, Mildred and Eldridge opened their hearts and their 14-room home to over 36 children as foster parents. This relentless commitment to fostering provided countless children with a safe haven, love, and guidance during a pivotal period of their lives. Through her selfless actions, Mildred embodied the true spirit of family and community.

In 1981, Mildred began her career at Wal-Mart, where she became an integral part of the team and devoted 15 years to her work before retiring. Upon her retirement, Mildred embraced her passion for quilting, which became one of her defining pursuits. She took quilting classes that ignited her creative spirit, and she began crafting beautiful quilts for family and friends. Mildred's generosity knew no bounds as she not only made quilts but also shared her knowledge and skills by teaching others to quilt. She joined the Women’s of White Oak Quilting Club, along with several other quilting groups, where she connected with fellow enthusiasts.

In recent years, Mildred found a welcoming home at Open Bible Assembly, where she embraced the community and developed cherished friendships. Her passion for music flourished when she joined the church choir, a source of great happiness for her.

Throughout her life, Mildred demonstrated an unwavering faith and appreciation for the beauty of existence. She often expressed her anticipation for meeting Jesus, the source of the life she so deeply valued. Known and loved by many, Mildred leaves behind a legacy defined by compassion and generosity. Her life was filled with wonderful relationships, and her presence will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the community she touched. Mildred’s memory will forever remain a guiding light, inspiring all to live with the same faith and grace she exemplified each day.
