Mildred Dora Young

Mildred Dora Young, age 100, of New Albany, IN. passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. She was born in Owen County, KY, on August 16, 1924, to Arbra Samuel and Harriett Mefford Smith.
Mildred was a homemaker, a member of Bethany Christian Church in Charlestown, she enjoyed raising flower and vegetable gardens. She also liked to sew, crochet, quilt, and cook everyone their favorite dish when she knew they were coming for a visit. Her late husband, Roy Sr., always had a home-cooked breakfast to start his day.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Young Sr., and her sons, Roy 'Mack' Young Jr., Ricky S. Young, and William 'Billy' S. Young.
She is survived by her daughters Judy Simpson and Margaret A. Robertson, both of Jeffersonville, IN, and her sons Gary Young and wife Lynn, Tony Dale Young, and Travis Young and wife Danielle, all of Jeffersonville, IN. Mildred was blessed with a large extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will all cherish their memories of her.
Life Celebration Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and burial will follow at New Chapel Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home.
