Rislund, Miles Carl
Age 71 of Chaska, MN, born January 15, 1952 in Detroit Lakes, MN passed away peacefully April 16, 2023 after being surrounded by loved ones. Miles lived rooted in the Lake Minnetonka/Excelsior area. After a career hanging drywall, he was able to relish some great years enjoying his retirement by taking scenic drives around the lake on his cherished Goldwing or in his Corvette, playing cards with the guys, being a devoted father, grandfather, wonderful brother, son, and friend. Miles loved the open road and over the course of his life put on endless miles appreciating the simple pleasures. After suffering a stroke in 2011 it gravely changed everything, but he still managed to make the best of things and have a positive attitude until the good Lord was ready to invite him home. He was genuine, compassionate, generous, had a huge heart, and always took care of those close to him. Miles was a very special man leaving behind a big void in this world. He will be dearly missed and always remembered. Miles was preceded in death by his father Earl Johnson, mother Hattie (Olander) Rislund, sister Jeanne Houdek. Miles is survived by his children Adam Rislund, Kate (Shaun) Werner, grandsons Jacob and Thomas, stepfather James Rislund, siblings Mike (Paulette) Rislund, Cindy (Kenley) Merrill, Sherri (Ed) Houdek, former wife Bonnie Rislund, many nieces, nephews, and friends. We welcome Miles' loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his monumental life at Pique Travel Design Event Space, 306 Water Street, Excelsior, MN 55331 on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 5pm. In Iieu of flowers, memorials in Miles' honor are welcomed to the American Stoke Association www.stroke.org.
