Lee Funeral Home - OwingsMillard "Ski" Emil Garbinsky, Jr., 78, of Upper Marlboro, MD, was born July 18, 1947 and passed away on September 29, 2025.
After graduating from John Carroll Catholic High School, Ski proudly served in the United States Army and upon returning from service he attended the University of Maryland where he earned two bachelor's degrees. He was granted his Certified Public Accounting license in February 1986 and went on to open his own accounting firm, where he served the Upper Marlboro community with dedication for 40 years.
Outside of work, Ski enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and was an avid poker player who relished a good game and great company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Sr. and Margaret Garbinsky; his sister, Rheta Suit; and his cherished nephew, Justin. He is survived by his sisters: Mary Sullivan of Huntingtown, MD; Linda Mezzapelle of Nashua, NH; and Janet Jackson of Dunkirk, MD. He also leaves behind six nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Wednesday, October 22 at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Friends are then invited to join the family for a celebration of Ski's life at 4:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Upper Marlboro. Inurnment with military honors will take place at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org or the Disabled American Veterans https://www.dav.org.
