Dr. Bernard came highly recommended by my late mother, Inez M. Keith Carolina, a retired surgical nurse, and our family friend, the late Dr. Albert Stanley Bacon. I was attending Howard Graduate School and my wisdom teeth needed to be removed. Both mother and Albert insisted that Dr. Bernard was one of the few who possessed the knowledge and strength for the job. I had the surgery in his office on Eastern Avenue in Silver Spring and received excellent care during and after. Dr. Bernard was delightful, a marvelous oral surgeon and an exceptionally gifted humanitarian. I pray condolences for his family and all others who remember his divinely inspired care and excellence. May God be with you.

I was very sorry to hear of Dr. Bernard`s passing. He was one of my instructors years ago at the Washington Hospital Center during oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. Dr. Bernard was one of the most well liked attending oral surgeons amongst the residents in training. He was kind to the residents, and always teaching us when present. He was a fine oral surgeon and human being.
Dr. Bernard encouraged the residents to proceed "lightly and politely" with surgery. This was exceptional and expert advice years ago that I follow to this day.
I offer heartfelt condolences to Dr. Bernard´s family and friends. Sincerely, Shaun Rai DMD

Milton was my classmate at Howard Dental. We sat next to each other, by alphabetical order. I respected him and liked him. He will be sorely and acutely missed!

Words can´t capture the treasured memories I have from my childhood of Dr. Bernard. It was heartwarming and encouraging to hear my dad and Dr. Bernard, joined by close friends laughing and engaging in lively discussions during social gatherings. Dr. Bernard and my dad are among the titans of excellence as patriarchs and professional colleagues. They were exceptional. Incomparable. Indomitable. For me, I felt like I could be great because I was surrounded by greatness! In profound sadness, my mom and I go on. I thank God for having had the blessing of being in the presence of such a great and honorable man. I pray the Lord comforts, strengthens and encourages the family, for I know all too well the sorrow and pain is overwhelming.

My Dear Bernard Family,
I extend my most sincere condolences. Dr. Bernard was a consumate father figure fr me he made me, a young teen whose own father had passed away, feel loved, cared about and important enough to impart a father's wisdom throughout my life. He was so gentle and made me feel like a daughter- a gift of love that I cherish. I remember how excited he was that I was having my first child. He even visited me after the birth. He was so kind.
Mrs. Bernard. My heart pours out to you. I saw the love you and Dr. Bernard had for one another. It was more than extraordinary, it was a beautiful, calm expression that was palpable. You two were the example of true abiding love.

I will miss Dr. Bernard's smile and his elegance. I will miss his kindness. I know that he will be with you as you two are inseparable.

I pray for your comfort and that our love with serve to ease some of the grief. Richard and I love you.

I am crestfallen to know that we have lost a giant of a man like Dr Milton Bernard. Milton is unparalleled in his influence and contributions to society at large and the Jamaican community in particular. I have loving memories of him for his tremendous contribution to my husband's life and Locksley revered him. Milton was "The Don" and the richness of his presence will be sorely missed.
Love and condolences to New, Michelle, Nicki, Andrea, Desi and the grands.
