It is with heavy hearts that the family of Milton Clayton "Clay" Lambert of Wacissa, Florida announce his passing at the age of 85 on October 1, 2024. He was surrounded by those that he loved and cherished most. He was born on June 26, 1939, to William Talmadge Lambert and Edna Marguerite Rudd.
As an only child growing up in Quincy, Florida, core values and hard work ethic were instilled early on leading to a ten-year career with the Gadsden County Sheriff's office where he obtained the rank of lieutenant before moving on to become the bureau chief with the office of the Inspector General for department of corrections.
Clay is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jaquelyn Lambert; daughter, Cindy Lambert Dilmore (Dennis); and grandson, Steven Lafreniere (Heather).
Clay was a kind and fair man that in his spare time loved to fish, work in his wood shop, and shoot pistols maintaining his skills that won him many awards including master marksman. He also took great pride in helping his church on many projects over the years including advising on the construction of the new fellowship hall. His deep love for his family, church, and friends will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
Please join the family for a celebration of life on October 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wacissa Christian Church, 14492 Waukeenah Highway, Wacissa, Florida.
Beggs Funeral Home, in Monticello, Florida, is honored to serve the family.
