Milton F. "Milt" Trosper, Jr., a man of deep faith and intellect, passed away at the age of 77 on August 14, 2025, in Sun City West, Arizona. Born on June 2, 1948, in Monte Vista, Colorado, Milt led a life characterized by commitment to his family, unwavering faith, and a passion for learning and imparting knowledge.
Milt's early life in Monte Vista laid the foundation for a lifetime of achievements. He pursued higher education at Adams State College, earning a Bachelor's Degree which paved the way for his future success. Milt's intelligence, wisdom, and analytical mind served him well as he worked alongside his mother in raising and maintaining their registered Black Angus herd, just west of Monte Vista. He established and operated Trosper Consulting Computer Services, both in Monte Vista, and Alamosa until his retirement. His work was not just his career; it was his calling, as he was devoted to problem-solving and innovation in the tech industry.
He found his greatest love when he married Linda Orton on May 30, 1992 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was his constant companion, his partner in all things, and she survives him in their family home, carrying forward their shared memories. Their blended family was a source of immense joy for Milt, as he embraced his role as a stepfather to Kevin (and spouse Emma) Rogers, Jason (and spouse Patrisha) Rogers, and Pamela (and spouse Micah) Larson, all of whom survive him; as well as ten grandchildren: Tasia, Cole, Trent, Kellan, Gage (Kylie), Dillon, Roj, Keeda, Lettie, and Mackenzie.
The legacy of Milt's parents, Milton F. "Bus" Trosper, Sr., and Wilma Oleta Wallis Trosper, continues through their son's life, even though they preceded him in death. Their values and love of community shaped the man Milt would become.
Milt's religious conviction was a cornerstone of his life. His spirituality was deeply tied to his identity as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and he took great joy in participating in the congregations and ministry in Monte Vista, Alamosa, and Payson, Arizona. His faith was evident in his eagerness to share what he saw as the good news of a new world promised by God-a hope that sustained him throughout his life.
Those who knew Milt would describe him as a beacon of intelligence and a reservoir of wisdom. His approach to life was thoughtful and methodical, characterized by a keen analytical mind that could unravel the most complex of problems. His guidance and reasoned perspectives were sought by many. He enjoyed taking walks all around Payson for exercise and enjoyment of nature and people, and feeding the ducks at the lake in Payson.
Cremation was chosen with services to be held at a later date. Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista is in care of the arrangements. To leave online words of comfort, remembrances of Milt, or tributes for his family, please visit www.RogersFunerals.com
