Carolyn Sue Trosper, age 87, passed from this world and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2025. She passed peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church at 10:00 am, Friday, May 16, 2025 with Dr. Dee Green officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

A family visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home.

Sue was born to Afton Richardson and Wanna (Tawwater) Richardson on April 29th, 1938 in Childress, Texas. Sue remained in Childress throughout her lifetime where she met the love of her life, Billy Trosper. She and Billy married on October 6th, 1955 and together they raised six children. Together they maintained a loving household and always left their doors open to anyone who needed a safe place to land. She was known to many as "Sue", to her close loved ones as "Susie Q" and later in life as, "Gran".

While raising her children, she served as president of the P.T.A., was a member of the Women's Department Club and set on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels. Sue was an accomplished seamstress and sewed for the public for years while also making many of her children's clothing. She was an excellent cook and served many family dinners for up to 75 people. She was a strong, courageous woman who served everyone with a gentle touch and she always had words of encouragement from her open and loving heart.

Sue was preceded in death by her soul mate of 50 years, Bill Trosper; three sons, Mike, Keith and Kirk Trosper; parents, Afton and Wanna Richardson; brother, Grant Richardson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lois Trosper.
