Minerva was born into a migrant family. She began working in the fields before the age of 10. "Neva" worked in the fields all year long, following the crops. For example, she picked cotton in different areas of Texas, cherries and sugar beets in Colorado, and tomatoes in Ohio, to name a few.

While working in the fields, she met her true love, Domingo. They were married on October 6, 1958. Together, they had 10 children. As a family, they worked the fields. Neva would cook an abundance of food to last all day. She would leave midday to get dinner ready, complete the laundry, and finish household duties by the time everyone returned home.

Minerva loved music. She could light up a room singing out loud and was no stranger to the dance floor. Minerva passed on her love of music to her family. She will be missed by all who know and love her.
