Minnie Lois Thornton, 86, of Langsville, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Abbyshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bidwell, Ohio. Minnie was born February 25, 1939, in Pecks Mill, West Virginia, daughter of the late James and Drusie (Stevens) White.

Minnie retired from Meigs Local School District following thirty years of service as a school bus driver. She was a member of the Danville Holiness Church and the Ohio Association of School Employees. Minnie married William Leon "Bill" Thornton June 28, 1957, in Washington D.C. and he preceded her in death January 14, 2016.

To this union were born their loving children: David (Hollee) Thornton, Gulf Breeze, Florida; Dennis (Lisa) Thornton, Louisville, Kentucky; Donna (Danny) Fink, Charleston, West Virginia; Diana (Roger) Arthur, Gallipolis, Ohio and Darlene Mills, Langsville, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are brother Rex (Joyce) White, Marengo, Ohio and sisters: Mary Kraft and Janet Watkins, both of Marengo, Ohio and Juanita (John) Bishop, Cardington, Ohio as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by brothers Richard, Ed, Sidney and Bob White and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the Danville Holiness Church, officiated by Brian Bailey, with burial to follow in Danville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Monday, 5:00-8:00 PM.
