Miranda Kay Scibilia of Gig Harbor passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2023. She was 39 years old.
Miranda moved to Gig Harbor as a child from New Hampshire and called Washington her home for over 30 years. She graduated from Henderson Bay High School in 2002 and completed her associate degree in administration of law and justice from Tacoma Community College in 2007.
Miranda worked in Banking for most of her adult life and most recently as an Account Executive, as well as working in medical billing. She volunteered at Gig Harbor High School working with kids in the inclusion program and the Special Olympics where she supported her nephew and other athletes. She enjoyed the ocean, traveling, shopping, visiting with her many nieces and nephews, and chicken nuggets with tons of ketchup. Miranda had a magnetic personality, a strong belief in God, and a sense of humor that drew so many to her.
Miranda is survived by her father, Joseph Scibilia, mother, Patricia Scibilia, siblings Deanna Scibilia, RJ Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Misty Bertulli, and Jobeth Cortese and her husband Casey Cortese, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many dear friends.
Miranda's family will hold a memorial for Miranda at Sehmel Homestead Park in the Volunteer Vern Pavilion in Gig Harbor September 10th, 2023, from 1pm -3pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions be made to help with Miranda's end-of-life expenses.
