Miriam B. Seifrit, 97, died on January 3, 2025, at Stone Ridge Village, Poplar Run, Myerstown, PA. She was the wife of the late Clarence L. Seifrit.
Born on December 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Warren R. and Anna Amole, Sr. Formerly from West Reading and Exeter Township, she resided at Stone Ridge Village in Myerstown, PA.
Miriam graduated from Birdsboro High School in 1945 and The McCann School of Business in 1947. She worked as a Bond Underwriter at Aetna Insurance, Reading for 30 years, and then as Surety Bond Manager for Murray Insurance, Lancaster, until her retirement in 1994. She was a charter member of the National Association of Insurance Women of Reading, where she served as Regional Director from 1984-1985, and State Director from 1986-1987.
She was a member of the Bird Chapter of the Eastern Star, Birdsboro, PA. She served as president of the Stone Ridge Village Residents Association in 2004 and 2006, and volunteered in the Stone Ridge Library. She was a member, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and treasurer of Calvary EC Church, Birdsboro for many years, a member and choir member of Community UCC Church, St. Lawrence for several years, and a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Myerstown until her passing. She loved knitting, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.
Miriam was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Glenn (Barb) of Woodbury, GA, Gary (Sharon) of Royersford, PA, and MaryAnn (Ted) of Clermont, FL. Also, six grandchildren, Derek (Lauren), BJ (Dani), Lynnette (Bill), Kristy (Gino), Jason (Christine), and Jeremy (Annie), and 13 great-grandchildren. Also her sisters, Barbara Seifrit and Mary Ellen Donat, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Warren Amole, Jr., and Catherine LoConte.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067, is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or through the website www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
