Loris, South Carolina

Miss Miriam (Myrtle) Watts of Loris, SC, a beloved daughter, a special aunt, special cousin, and best friend. Miss Watts was born on January 12, 1959, at Loris Hospital. Went into the arms of our loving savior Jesus Christ on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. Miss Watts was the daughter of the late William Ardell Watts and the late Estaleen W. Watts. Miss Watts was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Myrtle had a deep love for her baby dolls and her pocketbooks; she always loved her Maryland Fried Chicken, and seeing her special cousin (Teresa Clardy) "her sister." As a child she loved to play basketball, ride her bike, and riding with her daddy everywhere. She was resident of Oak View Health and Rehab Center since August 25, 2011, where she is leaving behind many friends and amazing staff that knew and loved her on unit three that became her second family. Her spirit created memories that will be treasured and talked about for years to come. Myrtle was a blessing to those who knew her and loved her. She leaves behind so many special memories and a lifetime of love.

Myrtle is survived by her nephew, Stevie L Watts (Kimberly) Loris, SC; nieces, Teresa Mary Watts (Chris) of Loris, SC, and Lori Ann Hucks (Simon) Of Conway, SC; one special cousin (Sister), Teresa Watts Clardy Of Loris, SC; great nieces, Caroline T Watts, Shelby L Watts, Madison N Watts, Addilynn G Strickland; great nephews, Donnie Brown (Sandra), Dale (DJ) Johnson, Braiden M Lott, and Bentley E Strickland. She is also survived by Abby, Jamie and Josh Clardy. Her love will forever live on throughout each of us.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was predeceased sister, Sandra Faye Watts; brother, William Lenair Watts; paternal grandparents Tom and Tersie Watts (Loris, SC); maternal grandparents, Dock and Mary Watts of Loris, SC; and her special uncle and aunt, D.J and Frances Watts (Loris, SC).

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Hardwick Funeral Home, and again from 1:00-2:00PM, prior to services, on August 11, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
