Mirta Strychalski went home to Jesus on February 15, 2024, at the age of 81. Mirta was born to Gonzalo Botello Sr. and Angelina Botello on October 4, 1942, in Laredo, TX. As a child, she loved to hunt with her father on their property in Uvalde, TX. Mirta married her husband, Jospeh Strychalski on March 17, 2005.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother to her son Robert De Leon and daughter Cynthia Nix, Mirta also loved serving in her community as a citizen's patrol and ministering to nursing home residents, as well as a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Mirta loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ and wanted others around her to know of His love for them as well.
Mirta joins her husband, Joseph; her granddaughter Kaylla Rihn; her brother Johnny Joe Botello and her parents in Heaven. Mirta is survived by the DeLeon family, her brothers Gonzalo Botello Sr. and wife Gaye and George Botello and wife Cynthia. As well as her son, Robert DeLeon and wife, Marie, daughter, Cynthia Nix and husband Rick; 7 grandchildren, Bradley Nix and wife Patty, Christopher Nix and wife Christen, Kaycee Nix, Kimberly Rihn, Brittany Mayfield and husband Jared, Robbie DeLeon, and Bella DeLeon. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Psalms 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.
