Sandra L (Haisley) Strychalski, 88 years old, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 with her family by her side at her residence in Mishawaka.
Sandra was born on September 16, 1936 in South Bend, to the late Paul and Myrtle (Kimes) Haisley. On January 27, 1962 at St. Patrick Church, Sandra married her loving husband, Ernest "Strike" Strychalski, who preceded her in death. Along with her loving husband, Sandra is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Leslie Strychalski; infant grandchildren, Erin & Adam Strychalski; sisters, Evelyn & Maxine Wilborn, Harriet Badger; and her brothers, Robert & Ralph Haisley.
Left to cherish their memory of Sandra is her son, Douglas Strychalski; and grandchildren, Regan Strychalski and Garett Strychalski.
Sandra worked at the Huron Pharmacy from 1972 until its closing in 1993. She then started working as a Regional Claims Clerk at the Hoosier Lottery until she retired in 2003. Sandra was a member of the Women of the Moose and was involved in many various card clubs.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Caring Cove Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion towards Sandra.
Visitation for Sandra will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, with a Funeral service to begin at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to Ernest at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Sandra L. Strychalski may be made to Caring Cove Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
