Today we're celebrating the life and memories of Clay Mitchell, whose
journey on this earth has come to an end.
Clay Mitchell was born into life on November 29, 1958 in Crawfordville,
Arkansas to Leroy and Everline Mitchell.
Clay attended Penn Elementary School, J.W. Howe Elementary and Austin
High School. He was employed at Luther General Hospital, Door Electric
and Zenith. Clay also did mechanical work, carpentry work and landscap-
ing.
Clay had a great sense of humor. He was always smiling and willing to
help others. One of his greatest enjoyments was spending time with his
family. Clay also liked dancing to music, acting silly and playing with the
kids. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Clay is preceded in death by: His father, Leroy Mitchell; his mother,
Everline Mitchell; grandparents, Clara Henderson, Walter Mitchell and
Clara and Howard Smith; his sisters, Sheila Mitchell and Arlene; brothers,
Clifton Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Walter, Virgil and Frankie; and his
nephews, Baby Lazarius and Dwayne Davis.
Clay leaves to cherish his memories: His two sons, Aleric Petty and Clay
Jackson (Laurie); his one and only daughter, Callandria Mitchell (Derrick);
sisters, Helen (Eddie), Loris (Jim) and Laura (Spanish); his brothers,
Nathaniel and Greg; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren;
a host of favorite nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved profoundly; and special friends,
Leonard Brown Jr, Tommie Keys, Lewis Keys, Gregory Greer, Spanish
Bush, Carolyn Trull and Mammie Stanton.
