Mitchell Joseph Franco

Mitchell Joseph Franco, 75, of Rupert passed away Wednesday June 11, 2025, at CAMC – Greenbrier Valley Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with

Alzheimer's. Born February 25, 1950, at Duo to the late George and Colletta (Reynolds) Franco.

He was a 1968 graduate of Rupert High School where he played football and had many stories to share. Mitchell served in the United States Marines. He careered in

construction and painting. He followed his mother's passion for music and was a lifelong gifted guitar player; many considered him great. He taught many people in the Rupert area how to play the guitar over the years. Even after being in the nursing home, he never lost his ability to pick and play his guitar. Amazingly, playing until his passing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Eugene and Curtis Franco.

Survivors include one son, Jody Franco (Tiffany) of Scott Depot; one daughter, April Franco of Mullens; one brother Danny (Patricia) Franco of St Albans, four

grandchildren, Owen, Julia, Kaycee, and Kristopher as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, Mitchell will be cremated with no public service. A private family service/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
