Mitchell Lassetter Obituary

Our beloved Mitchell "Mitch" Wray Lassetter passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Born on September 21, 1949, in Waco, Texas, to James and Mary Jo (Lightfoot) Lassetter, Mitch was so much more than the dates that mark his life-he was the steady heartbeat of our family.
Mitch had a gift for making everyone feel at home. Whether he was on the boat, behind the grill, or with a guitar in hand singing his favorite songs, he brought people together with laughter, stories, and good food. He never met a stranger and had a way of turning ordinary moments into lifelong memories.
For 56 years, he shared a beautiful love story with his wife, Libby. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
To his sons, Brad (and wife May) and Tony (and wife Christa), he was a rock and role model-showing by example what hard work, loyalty, and humor look like in everyday life. His grandkids, Lauren, Ethan, Breanna, and Sydney, were his greatest joy, and you could always count on him to brag about them with a smile that stretched ear to ear.
He also leaves behind his sister, Michelle Garrett (and husband Billy Joe), his sister-in-law Pat Lassetter, and a big extended family who adored him more than words can say. We will miss him deeply, but we'll also celebrate the wonderful man he was-the storyteller, the grill master, the family jokester, and the one who always made us laugh a little louder and love a little bigger.
A celebration of Mitch's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Martin's Funeral Home (100 South Morgan Street, Granbury, Texas), followed by burial at Holly Hills Memorial Park (1909 Weatherford Highway, Granbury, Texas).
