Mitchell Ray Turner, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Berea, Kentucky. He was born on January 20, 1969, in Richmond, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Stewart Turner. He leaves behind his father, Ermon Turner Jr., and his cherished wife, Mataline, alongside his children, Cody Ray Turner with his wife Kallie, and his stepson, Dustin Eldridge with his wife Sabrina. Mitchell is survived by his brother, Jimmy Turner, with his wife Kim, and sister, Rebecca Mays. The joy of his life was undoubtedly his grandchildren, Chloe Beth Turner, Dillon Lee Eldridge, Makenzie Eldridge, Nicholas Eldridge, and Emma Eldridge, and he was blessed to see the family tree grow with the arrival of a great-grandson, Rhett Lee Eldridge. He will also be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephew, Jarred Turner with his wife Kimberly, Brooke Turner, and Nieca Mays, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Throughout his life, Mitchell was the epitome of hard work and reliability, traits exemplified in his career as a truck driver for Sims Alumisource.
Mitchell's love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite pastimes-fishing and gardening. His hands, often found in the earth or beside a fishing rod. The fruits of his labor in the garden and his impressive catches from the lake were often shared with neighbors and friends, showcasing his belief in kindness and community.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, June 30, 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Northern and Bro. Daryl Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cody Turner, Dustin Eldridge, Jarred Turner, Steve Ball, Mark Center, and Eric Turner. Honorary bearers will be Robert Glenn Stewart, Ronnie Gray, Jan Lakes, Steve Lamb, and Chris Mason.
