Robert Martin Lake
Robert Lake entered this life Nov. 16, 1946, and passed away Oct. 4, 2025. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Algan Lake and Zayda Powell Williams, his brother Wendell Lake, and sister Renda Susan Lake Powell.
Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years Janice L. Wiles Lake, and one son Clay Martin (Melinda Sue) Lake, his brother Algan (Sandra) Lake Jr., his grandchildren: Cassidy Lake (Spencer) Curry, Allie Caitlyn (Tyler) Thacker, Emma Elizabeth Lake, great-grandchildren: Ella Reece Thacker, Rowan Martin Lee Thacker.
Robert served his country by joining the US Navy, his passion was working in communications, which he did for 4 years. He worked in Radio Broadcasting after the Navy and eventually returned to the Bluegrass Army Depot where he worked as a Security Specialist until retirement. Robert continued to work on his farm until the day he passed away, he was thankful the Lord allowed him to stay at his home and farm until God called him home. His family will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday Oct. 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Deron Cobb officiating services, and close friend Bob Jones assisting. Pallbearers will be Rex Powell, Kirk Douglas Lake, Keith Vickers, Blake Wiles, Tyler Thacker, and Spencer Curry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Powell, Algan Lake Jr., Charles Willis, Don Wiles, and Joe Ross. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon until services at 1 pm, at Lakes Funeral Home.
