M.E. Carr Jr. was born October 20, 1926 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Mize Everett Carr and Vertie Siner Carr. He passed away December 18, 2025 at his home.

Celebration of Life will be held January 3, 2026 at Criswell Funeral Home.

M.E. graduated from PolyTechnic Highschool in Ft. Worth in 1944. He graduated from Brantley Draughon-College in Ft. Worth in 1950.

M.E. was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1945 and the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.

M.E. married Mary Lou Ryan in 1955.

M.E. was employed by Lone Star Gas Co. as a salesman, Lennox Industries as a Territory Manager, Howard Sheet Metal & Roofing Co. in Ada 23 years as a salesman, engineer and estimator, and retired from Atlas Plumbing and Piping as Vice-President.

M.E. was very active in the community and a prolific volunteer. He was a member and served as President of the Jaycees, Kiwanis Club of Ada, Shrine Club of Ada, and Pontotoc County Contractors Assoc. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Ada Masonic Lodge, McAlester Scottish Rite, and India Shrine Temple. M.E. was a clown with the Shriners appearing in several local parades. He also served 35 years in the AARP's Tax Aide Program. M.E. also served as a member and Chairman of the Pontotoc County Election Board for many years. One of M.E.'s many activities was growing and planting pecan tree seedlings for planting in locations around Ada.

M.E. is survived by his daughters Connie Williams (husband Rick) and Betsy Carr, son Hunter Carr (wife Vicki); grandchildren Kymra Schimmelbusch, Kale Ogden, Christiana Carr-Smith, Alisha Carr, Clayton Griffiths, Jackson Griffiths and Jillian Griffiths; great grandchildren Jared Jiminez, Jory Jiminez, Jace Jiminez, Hudson Smith, Parker Smith, Avender Smith, Titus Smith, Ambrose Smith and Esli Smith; and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Carr, his parents, sister Callie Marie Carr, son Mark Carr.
