Mona Dell Bishop

Mona Dell Bishop of Pampa, passed away on August 25, 2022 in Pampa.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating, Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM, Monday, August 29, 2022 at the funeral home.
Mona was born in Dimmitt to Rachel and William Addison Hunter. She grew up, attended, and graduated school in Dimmit. After high school, she enrolled in West Texas State College in Canyon, later earning her degree in education. After graduating college, she started her career in teaching. A career that spanned over 30 years and several towns that included Roscoe, Follet, and Pampa when she came in 1969.
Mona would meet Jim Bishop and they married on September 28, 1991. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Pampa. Mona was an extremely talented woman musically, and she could play several different instruments. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mona is survived by her husband, Jim Bishop of the home; three sons, Monty Oneal and wife Haleigh of San Angelo, Kyle Oneal of Wichita, KS, and Trent Oneal and wife Tiffany of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Jaden Oneal and wife Morgan of Friona, Jaxton Oneal of Amarillo, Sean Oneal of Wichita, KS, Paige Oneal of Wichita, KS, and Kyler Oneal of San Angelo; two great-grandchildren, Kameron Oneal of Amarillo, and Aria Oneal of Friona; a brother, Richard Hunter and wife Sissy of Dimmitt; and by other extended family.
