Obituary of Monica Zamudio
Monica Zamudio, age 39, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Monica was born in Mexico on June 6, 1984, the daughter of Savina Rodriguez and the late Porfirio Zamudio. She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School, class of 2002. Monica had worked for over 15 years at Old National (formerly First Midwest) Bank in Joliet.
Monica is survived by her daughter, Victoria Cordoba; her mother, Savina Zamudio; her siblings, Jose (Silvia) Zamudio, Norma (Jaime) Martinez, Alejandro (Lupe) Zamudio, Guadalupe (Juan) Lopez, and Adriana (Alex) Guzman; her fiancée Israel Cordoba; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Porfirio Zamudio.
Visitation for Monica Zamudio will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024, beginning at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and processing to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
