Monte Joe Climer,67, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, left this life in the early morning hours of November 14, 2025, from apparent heart failure.
Monte was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Barbara Sue (Tomlinson) and Milton Joseph (“Joe”) Climer, Jr. He attended Shawnee Public Schools through graduation. During Monte’s teen years he worked for the Sonic Corp. During his young adulthood he pursued an interest in auto mechanics, working with Yort’s Alternator Service. He later went with Keen’s Starter & Alternator Service of Shawnee.
Upon his retirement from Keen’s, Monte was able to fully embrace his many adventurous outdoor interests. He loved fishing and spending time with family and friends at the lake and at Blue River. He enjoyed anything with wheels that would go fast, both on-road and off-road. Racing mini-carts was his passion, earning him numerous victories at the track.
Monte was deeply loved by his family and well liked by friends who knew him for his ever-present smile, easygoing nature, and willingness to lend a hand.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, La Donna (Climer) McCoy. He is survived by his son Justin Climer (Amy), Junia Climer, Justin’s mother; sister, Chrystal Ring (Todd); brother, Jackie Climer (Scherry); two grandchildren; his devoted companion of many years, Greta Taylor; her sons, Rocky Taylor (Jany), Scottie Taylor, and her four grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members; longtime close friend, Garett Dickinson, and many other friends.
Please join the family in a celebration of Monte’s life at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at AE Funeral Services, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma.
