In Loving Memory of Morgan Reece Stacy
With profound sadness, the family of Morgan Reece Stacy announces her peaceful passing on September 2, 2025, at the age of 36, following a long and courageous battle with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).
Born on September 25, 1988, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Morgan was a radiant soul whose laughter, compassion, and strength touched everyone she met. She was a devoted mother, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend – a vibrant spirit whose presence brought joy and comfort to those around her. From a young age, Morgan accepted the Lord as her Savior.
Morgan’s greatest joy in life was her children, Drake and Ellison. She poured her heart into motherhood, ensuring they felt deeply loved. Her love for them was boundless, and they were her most precious jewel.
A lover of nature, Morgan found peace in the sunlit shores of the beach and the crisp serenity of the mountains. She embraced each season with wonder and gratitude. Known for her playful heart, she was a self-proclaimed shopaholic and passionate foodie – always up for dining out, even if she had a few particular preferences. Her deep love for animals reflected her gentle and nurturing soul. Morgan’s warmth, humor, and unmistakable spark left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a proud Alabama fan. Her favorite saying was: “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing is impossible!”
She is survived by her beloved children, Drake and Ellison; parents, James “Sonny” Reece (Juliet); brother, Ben Reece; stepsiblings, JoAnna Kirk and Tyson Kirk (Meredith); grandparents, Bobby and Laudis Lancaster; aunt, Wanda Reece; uncle, Steve Lancaster (Kim); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Angie Lancaster Reece; and grandparents, James “Bud” and Mattie Reece.
Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Magnolia Chapel North in Northport. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Tim Baumgarten officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel North directing.
Pallbearers will be Ben Reece, Carson Reece, Steve Lancaster, Eli Lancaster, Mark Armullas, Edward Paguirigan, Craig Sanford, Garen Watts.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff Aliceville Nursing Home, Dr. George Miller, Dr. John Miller, and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama, Nikki Hammond at ACG Hospice, and Northport Free Will Baptist.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Northport Free Will Baptist Youth Ministry.
