The Life & Legacy of Morgene Tate

Morgene Tate, was born on January 10, 1931, in
Evergreen, Alabama to the late Curtis and Leola Harrison. She was the fifth child to this beloved union. God remained true to his promise when he called Morgene home on Friday, March 4, 2023, to receive her eternal reward.
Morgene graduated from Lamber High School in
Evergreen, Alabama. In 1957, she married the late Andrew Tate the love of her life. As years passed, she met her companion of 36 years the late Joe Dinkins.
At an early age, she confessed her love for Jesus as her Lord and Savior where she was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in
Evergreen, Alabama. She was a devoted and faithful member of many years. After leaving Alabama, she joined Revelation Baptist Church under late Rev. Sangters. In early 1960s she moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights and remained devoted until her health declined. She was a choir member and attended Wednesday afternoon bible study faithful.
She worked at RCA as well as US Playing Cards. After leaving work, she accepted a caregiver position with Dr. Allen Tarshis' family. The Tarshis children loved Morgène as their own blood grandmother where she was known as "Jeannie Beanie" and in 2007 she retired.
Morgene personality speaks for itself. She was humbled, and kindhearted person known for helping others in need. Her gentle smile and her big heart brought so much joy to all. She loved attend her family reunions, travel and cook and make the best pound cakes/sweet potatoes pies. Morgene was a Cincinnati Reds & Bengals fan and enjoyed golf.
Morgene was preceded in death by her late husband Andrew Tate; parents: Leola and Curtis Harrison; sister: Betty Jean Harrison; and brothers: Alfonzo Harrison, Joseph Harrison, and Minister William Harrison.
Morgene leaves to cherish her devoted sister: Annie Todd; three brothers: Curtis Harrison and David Harrison (Aurlene); extended Tarshis grandchildren Zoe, Benjy, and Ibby; two special friends: Dorothy William and Shelly Tarshis along with host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Kennedy Hghts., 6201 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati (45213). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street,
Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
