Moris Carmicheal

Moris "Hoagy" Carmicheal, 94, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on September 3, 2023. He entered this world on April 12, 1929 in Burns City, IN, born to Reverend C. Jerome and Cora Carmicheal. After graduating high school, Moris served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an electrical shop repairman for over 30 years at Ohio Power (AEP) retiring in 1992. Moris was an avid golfer, bowler, and sang bass in the church quartet. He was a proud member of American Legion #44. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepson David Grubbs; granddaughter Christan Clapp; brother Doyle Carmicheal; sister Doris Karnes; and son-in-law Terry Clapp. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathleen Carmicheal; daughters Joy Carmicheal, Karen Girt (Rich), Linda Clapp, Lisa Grubbs (Terri), and Ruth Ann Hickman; grandchildren Stephanie Schulte (Jason), Amber Reed (Mike), Ray Clapp (Noel), Michelle Stoia (Marcel), Heather Clapp, Emily Grubbs, Elijah Grubbs, Brianna Grubbs, Adrian Grubbs, Bettina, and Timo; great-grandchildren Braiden, Bryce, Brinlee, Masyn, Jeremy, Joshua, Elijah Jr., Nikolai, Tamara, and Marek; and sister Ruth Motz-Ayala.
