Morris Elliott, age 82, resident of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Elliott, son of the late Roy and Cora Elliott, was born January 15, 1943 in Rossville, Georgia. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee and retired from Combustion Engineering, where he worked as a Boilermaker for over 39 years. Mr. Elliott was also a member of Masonic Lodge #397 Rossville, Georgia. He enjoyed raising animals, hunting and fishing, and spending time on his tractor. Mr. Elliott always looked forward to taking trips with his family to the Smokey Mountains. While at home, many would see him woodworking and fixing things around the house. Mr. Elliott also enjoyed watching classic western shows and movies and listening to country, gospel, and blue grass music. The family remembers him as a man who loved his family immensely – one who was a clear presence to everyone, unable to be forgotten. Besides his parents, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Elliott; sister, Virginia Jo Parsley; and two brothers, R.W. Elliott and Kenneth Elliott. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Leinda Jo Elliott; one daughter, LeAnn (Hubert) Roberts; one son, Andy Elliott; one sister, Jean Gray; three grandsons, Cougar Roberts, Jagger Roberts, and Drew Elliott; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Monday, September 29, 2025, 11 a.m. with Reverend Joe Gill officiating.
