Morris Bee Kemp, 82 of Newark, went to be with our Lord on Friday March 21, 2025 peacefully at his residence.
Morris was born June 11, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph Edgar and Annie (McCrary) Kemp. He married the love of his life Alta Tackett on July 18, 1963 in Boyd, Texas. Morris graduated from Northwest High School and he was an electrician by trade and a member of the House of Prayer Church in Newark. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and throughout the years and he also raised sheep, which is what he was known for by the locals. Morris was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grand father and great grandfather and will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annie Kemp; son, James Kemp; brothers, Gilbert, Willis, Bobby, Obie and Homer Kemp and sister, Doris Troutman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Alta Kemp; daughters, Gaylynn Bodkin and husband Robert of Aurora and Rita Burch and husband Lesley of Newark; son, Ronnie Hassell and wife Leah of Fort Worth; sister, Louise Meredith of Newark; grandson, Robert Bodkin and wife Wendie of Breckenridge; granddaughters, Brittney McQueen and husband Mark of Weatherford and Amanda Edwards and husband Tyler of Larue; great grand-children, Robby Bodkin, Savannah Papke and Haisley McQueen, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and a host of friends.
