Mr. Robert "Morris" McDowell, age 65, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 28, 1959, in Carrollton, he was the cherished son of the late Robert E. McDowell and Sarah Morris McDowell.

Morris was a lifelong resident of Carrollton and a graduate of Carrollton High School with the Class of 1977. Known for his dependable work ethic and friendly smile, he dedicated more than 30 years to working as a grocer, where he built lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers.

A man of faith, Morris was a devoted member and deacon at Providence Baptist Church. His life was guided by three pillars: his church, his family, and his work. He lived each day with quiet integrity, always putting others before himself. Of all the roles he held, his most treasured was that of "PawPaw." Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, Cash and Ryan, whether it was encouraging them in their faith, sharing stories, or simply enjoying their laughter.

Morris will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 44 years, Wanda Williams McDowell; his son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Jamie McDowell; his beloved grandson and granddaughter, Cash McDowell and Ryan McDowell; his sister and brother-in-law, Joye and George Greene; his brother-in-law, Bennie Power; and his cousin, Derrick McDowell, who he considered a brother, and his wife, Wendy. He also leaves behind many extended family members, church friends, and neighbors who will miss his kindness and steadfast presence.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Linda McDowell, and sister-in-law, Nancy Power.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Morris's life will follow at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Wayne Webb and Pastor Ben Bonner officiating. In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated following the service.

Messages of love and condolences may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to care for the McDowell family during this time.
