Mike Calhoun

Michael "Mike" Dwayne Calhoun, 66, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 3, 1959, to the late Harold Lloyd Calhoun and Bessa Fox Calhoun, and was a lifelong resident of Carroll County.

Mike was a farmer through and through, not just by trade, but at heart. For over 40 years, he devoted himself to raising cattle and caring for the land he loved. Farming wasn't simply an occupation for Mike; it was a way of life that shaped his work ethic, his values, and his deep appreciation for God's creation. His steadfast dedication and quiet strength earned the respect of fellow farmers, neighbors, and friends alike.

A man who found joy in the simple things, Mike was rarely without the company of his beloved Labrador retrievers, who were as much a part of the family as anyone else. He had a soft spot for animals and a knack for seeing the good in every living thing.

Mike was a member of Roopville Road Baptist Church, where he worshiped and served. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding the way he loved his family and treated others.

Above all else, Mike was a devoted family man. He cherished his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Robin Evans Calhoun, who was his constant partner in life and love. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Amy Calhoun, and nothing brought him more joy than being "Pa" to his grandson, Hunter Albright, who was his pride and joy. Mike's quiet wisdom, steady presence, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Robin; daughter, Amy; and grandson, Hunter, along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Mike's life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Brother Sam Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Charles Jackson, Lyndell Foster, Eddie Duncan, Stacey Hollingsworth, Tony Reeves, and Todd Powell serving as pallbearers.
