Lafayette: Mr. Morris Thomas (99) was born on July 2, 1926 to the late Anderson Thomas and Malonie "Nola" Thomas. He was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He loved family and was very kind and friendly to everyone he met. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945 during World War II along with his two brothers Wilson Thomas (U.S. Army) and Eugene Thomas (U.S. Navy). All three brothers served in the military at the same time. Thank God they all came home alive. He passed away peacefully at River Oaks Retirement Manor.
He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Mable Thomas Guidry (Houston, TX), one grandson, Michael Lee Thomas Jr., two great grandsons, two devoted nieces, Betty Ann Thomas and Frances Ann Babineaux who cared for him and made sure he was always well taken care of at River Oaks Retirement Manor where he was a resident. He also leaves to cherish his memories five nephews, Charles Babineaux (Sandra), Larry Thomas (Rita), John Thomas, Chester Babineaux (Katy) and Ronald Babineaux (Carlita) seven nieces, Betty Ann Thomas, Frances Ann Babineaux, Helen Babineaux Zeno (Woodson), Veronica Thomas Roberts, Gail Thomas Mclamoore (Tom), Janet Guidry Alexander, Ra'Nell Thomas Landry (Ricardo) and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Anderson Thomas and Malonie "Nola" Thomas, two brothers Wilson Thomas (Indiana) and Eugene Thomas (Alberta), two sisters Olita Thomas Peron and Mary Thomas Babineaux (Horace), his only son Michael Lee Thomas, five nephews Russell Peron Jr., Wilson Thomas Jr., Neil Guidry, Shelton Guidry, Anderson (Andy) Guidry and one niece Marvel Thomas.
