Moses Thomas Gallion

Moses Thomas Gallion, 75, of Dunn, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Born on November 4, 1949, Moses was the beloved son of Chick and Pauline Gallion. A proud graduate of Johnston Community College, he dedicated his professional life to public service, retiring from the North Carolina ABC Commission. In July 2013, he was appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board, a role he held with distinction. Moses was also a graduate of the Leadership Harnett Program and the Harnett County Citizens Academy with the Harnett County Sheriff's Department.
He was an active and proud member of the Wake County Chitlin Club, founded by the Honorable Rufus Edmisten, where he was known for his camaraderie, good-natured spirit, and infectious humor.
Moses shared 56 loving years of marriage with his wife, Donna Gallion, and was a devoted father to their daughter, Erica Gallion. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Parker (Randy); his brother, Joe Gallion (Donna); and several nieces and nephews who brought great joy to his life.
In retirement, Moses continued to pursue his passion for auctioneering, working with Ammons Auctions. He was known for his radiant smile, contagious laugh, and his remarkable ability to uplift those around him. A natural entertainer, Moses never missed a chance to bring joy to others through humor and kindness.
In his younger years, Moses was a standout football player at Benson High School. His legendary strength and determination on the field were well-known-often seen running the length of the field with opposing players clinging to him, trying in vain to bring him down.
Moses was also an avid scuba diver and co-owned B&G Divers with his friend Ronnie Blue, where they frequently dove for golf balls and shared many underwater adventures.
He had a heart of gold and a natural desire to make those around him happy. Moses loved to tell a good joke, but behind his humorous nature was a deep intelligence and wisdom. Many sought his counsel, knowing he would offer thoughtful and genuine advice.
Moses Gallion leaves behind a legacy of service, warmth, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home, Erwin, NC.and at other times at the home.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Dunn Funeral Home Chapel of Erwin.
