Moses Ernesto Mondragon, Jr., 79, was born on November 16, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and entered into eternal rest on August 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Moses was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, strong faith, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His kindness, resilience, and laughter left an indelible mark on everyone whose life he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Moses E. Mondragon and Luz Elida Mondragon; his brothers, Richard, James, Rey, and Frank Mondragon; and his sister, Eva Mondragon.

Moses is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Maria Luisa Mondragon; his sons, Moses Edward Mondragon and wife Joelia, Daniel De Los Santos and wife Rachel, and Joshua Mondragon; his daughters, Eva Mondragon Harris and husband Darrell, Kelly Mondragon, Monica De Los Santos, and Rachel Mondragon. He also leaves behind his brothers, Juan Mondragon and Daniel Mondragon; his sisters, Juanita and Patricia; 20 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and dear friends.

A man of many talents, Moses worked as a welder for most of his life and, even after retirement, pursued further education in HVAC. Truly a jack of all trades, he could be found fixing cars, repairing homes, or figuring out solutions to life’s everyday challenges. His determination to learn, adapt, and provide for his family was matched only by his generosity and willingness to help others at any time of day or night.

Though strong and tough on the outside, Moses had a lighthearted side and could always make those around him laugh. He cherished time with his children and grandchildren, loved watching basketball, and never passed up the chance to enjoy a Steven Seagal movie. His presence was comforting—he gave the kind of hugs that made you feel safe, loved, and understood, even in difficult times.

Moses lived his life unapologetically, guided by faith, strength, and love. He taught his children to be true to themselves, to face life with courage, and to always lead with kindness. His legacy lives on in the lessons he shared, the laughter he brought, and the deep love he gave so freely.

Moses will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
