Mr. Bobby Lee Rogers, born on April 23, 1946, in Upson County, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon. He was 79.
Bobby was a 1965 graduate from R.E. Lee Institute and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercer University. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1970 and also with The Georgia National Guard. Bobby was employed with Federal Paper Board before serving as a Security Guard at Upson Regional Medical Center. Bobby was a member of North Church Street Church of Christ.
Bobby leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Sue Pierce Rogers, and their daughter, Donna Rogers Gravitt, both of Thomaston; his sisters-in-law, Glenda Rogers of Thomaston and Geraldine Knight of Wrightsville; his grandson, Gabe Gravitt, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Nelson Rogers and Grace Legg Rogers, as well as his brothers, Clarence Rogers, Lamar Rogers, and Billy Rogers, and his son-in-law, Chuck Gravitt.
A memorial service for Bobby will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Monty Eason will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Richard Mikell, Eddie Mason, Kenny Kent, Dusty Elliott, Rick Witte, and Theo Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors, Tunnels to Towers, or St. Jude’s's Children Research Hospital.
