Muriel was the daughter of William and Data Daniels of Guthrie, OK and sister to William O. Daniels, Eva Daniels Price and Raymond E. Daniels. She was the wife of Max Howard Marriott; mother of Linda Marriott Newby; Karen Louise Marriott and Ann Marriott Payne; Grandmother of Justin Payne, Shannon Payne Pearson and Margaret Payne; Great-Grandmother of Noah, Hannah and Wyatt Payne; and Mother-in-Law to David Payne and Jim Seeger-Newby; and Grandmother-in-Law to Patrick Pearson and Christina Janetic. She was Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews as well as friend to all who met her.
Muriel graduated from Guthrie High School where she was selected as ROTC Honorary Cadet and Homecoming Queen. She married Navy Lieutenant Commander Max Marriott and became a homemaker and mother. She was an impeccable seamstress making all three of her daughters' clothes, doll clothes and even pet coats/collars! Her love of animals was continually apparent with the many family pets throughout the years.
Muriel played the piano by ear always with beautiful feeling and enjoyed listening to music especially the "big bands" of the 1940's. She also enjoyed painting, reading and staying up to date with current affairs. She was very intelligent as evidenced in all she did including her unquestioned skill at the game of Bridge. Previously she had been a Sunday School Teacher at the Guthrie First Presbyterian Church, a Brownie Troop Leader in Guthrie and a volunteer at Baptist Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Muriel loved her family dearly and was immensely proud of her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law and grandchildren-in-law. They were the light of her life!
