Murlin L. Gums

Murlin Laverne Gums, passed away peacefully, on January 21, 2025, in Sparta, Wisconsin, at the age of 75. Born on February 2, 1949, to John and Esther (Schafer) Gums in Wilton, Wisconsin. Murlin grew up to be a man of great character, beloved by his family and friends.
He spent over four decades as a dedicated semi-truck driver, with his most recent years behind the wheel for Blackhawk Transport. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by the love and care he showed for his family. Murlin's life was a testament to the value of hard work, reliability, and the joy of the open road. When not on the road, you could find Murlin at the casino.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie, of 37 years, who stood by him through life's many journeys, children, Daniel (Marilyn) Gums of California, and Erica (Alyssa) Gumsberg of Sparta. His legacy of warmth and generosity lives on through his grandchildren, Estyrosemary Gums Widell, Braylon Clay, Jacob Gums, and Cora Gums, along with nieces, nephews, and sister, Augusta.
Murlin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Esther, and siblings.
