Murray D. Reimer, 70, of Hutchinson, died April 23, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a long health battle. He was born April 8, 1955, in Fowler, to Arnold and Helen (Loewen) Reimer.
Murray attended Tabor College in 1974 and graduated from Friends University in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Science. He worked for Prairie Land Partners, AGCO Corporation, and Straub International as an agricultural mechanic for 40 years.
In 1979, he married Ama Boese. They shared 46 years of marriage before his death.
Murray was an active member of the First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson. He participated in the church choir and was the sound tech for Sunday morning services. Murray especially enjoyed the pot luck dinners at the church.
Murray followed motor sports avidly whether he went to the drag races or watched NASCAR on television. He could tell you everything about the sport. Murray enjoyed visiting with friends and family albeit in person or on the phone.
Murray is survived by: beloved wife, Ama Reimer of Hutchinson; sons, Drew (Rebekah) Reimer of West Virginia, and Ethan Reimer of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Josephine Reimer of West Virginia; sister, LaVera (Tim) Isaac of Oklahoma; brother, Leon (Ethel) Reimer of Meade; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will take place at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Rd. Hutchinson, KS, with dates to be announced. Friends may sign his memorial book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mennonite Central Committee and First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
