Murrell Emerson Obituary
Born December 17, 1943, in Parksville, KY, he was a son of the late James T. and Gladys Phillippe Emerson. He attended Parksville High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from Lockheed Martin Aircraft Company in Fort Wayne, IN, and was previously employed with General Electric Aircraft.
He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Liberty, KY.
Surviving in addition to his wife of over 60 years are a daughter, Amelia "Amy" Emerson of Bradley; four sons, Darin (Bonnie) Emerson of Hicksville, OH, Brent Emerson of Troy, Christopher Emerson of Hawaii and Patrick Emerson of Troy; two brothers, Carroll Dean Emerson of Woodburn, IN, and RC Emerson of KY; a sister, Joann (John) Miller of Houstonville, KY; eleven grandchildren, four step grandchildren; and twenty two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Emerson; and two sisters, Imajean Railey and Janet Sue Peek.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 3:00 pm at the family cemetery on the family property in Troy.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the home immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pathway House, 208 Panola Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646, or The Faith Home Christian Recovery, 144 Faith Home Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.
