Murry Lee Hardy, 76, of Owensboro died Friday, November 19, 2004 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born September 25, 1928, Mr. Hardy was a 50 year, charter member of the Immaculate Catholic Church and was a 40 year employee of Bell South retiring as the Central Office manager. Mr. Hardy was a past president of the Telephone Pioneers of America; member of the Immaculate Mens Club; and enjoyed playing cards and pool and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Mae Thompson Hardy; a daughter, Paula (and Leo) Bradley, of Owensboro; three sons, Joe (and Trish) Hardy of Houston, TX, Bill (and Becky) Hardy of Owensboro, and Chris Hardy of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Dr. Nicole (and Dr. David) Brey, Brandon (and Amy) Hardy, Ben Vessels, Ross Hardy, and Lindsay Hardy; three step-grandchildren, Jason (and Missy) Bradley, Jared Bradley, and Laura Bradley; and two brothers, Ira ( and Ruth Ann) Hardy and Ellis (and Doris) Hardy both of Owensboro.
Funeral services are 10 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2004 at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 3-7 P.M. on Sunday and after on 8:30 A.M. Monday. Prayers will be at 4 P.M. on Sunday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Rd., Owensboro, KY 42303 or to the Bell South Telephone Pioneers, Christmas Wish, 4642 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.
